Becoming pregnant is almost a rite of passage for women who are married and want to start a family. Many women and men believe that once they begin trying for their first child, the process will inevitably end in the birth of a baby. But, for some couples, the process simply does not flow as smoothly as it may for other couples. When infertility is a subject at hand in a relationship, stress can ensue and the relationship can fall apart quickly.
Infertility can quickly change the thought of having a baby from a delight to a task. When procreation does not happen within a short amount of time, both people in the relationship begin to feel as though it is their fault or vice versa that it is the fault of their partner. These feelings will change the social makeup of a relationship leading to further trouble conceiving a child.
Today there are many avenues for couples to choose in regards to infertility and infertility treatments. The key is to focus on the love in the relationship and to keep the bond between both partners strong. Once the aspect of conceiving a child makes intercourse a chore, the relationship and the intimacy will fall apart quickly. Without the bond of intimacy, even if a child is conceived there will remain ill feelings between the couple despite the baby on the way.
With infertility treatments and adoption, every couple has the ability to become parents. Parenthood does not have to be defined by giving birth to a child naturally. But, it does require two parents who are on the same page and remain close despite the struggles of infertility.
The most common methods of infertility treatment available today include contraception to regulation menstrual cycles, fertility medications and in-vitro fertilization. Fertility screenings may be prescribed by the doctor involved to discover whether or not one of the two partners is infertile.
