We always hear that pregnant women have an beautiful glow but unfortunately most pregnant women don't feel beautiful. I remember being pregnant with my first son. I gained so much weight for my petite frame that I wanted to cry every time I passed a mirror or my closet. I didn't think I would ever get back down to my normal size. When my husband told me how beautiful I was I just wanted to slap him. But the truth of the matter is that pregnant women do glow with an inner beauty that shines outward as well.
Remember that you will lose weight and you can look just as good pregnant as you did before. You won't be pregnant forever so cherish it while it lasts. Here are a few ways to treat yourself with tender loving care and feel beautiful at the same time.
Get out and have fun.
Invite a friend out to lunch and go shopping afterward. Getting out can make a world of difference in how you feel and look. Spending time with friends and family members can help to lift your spirits. Spend time with someone who makes you laugh. Laughter really is the best medicine and it's a great beauty aid too.Doing things that you enjoy can help you feel better about yourself.
Treat yourself to a beauty treatment.
Visit your nearest salon or spa and treat yourself to a day of pampering. You deserve it and you'll feel great. Get a new hairstyle, have a facial or maybe even get a manicure and pedicure. It's your day so decide what you want. If splurging on beauty treatments doesn't fit into your current budget then treat yourself to some homemade beauty treatments. Soften dry skin with a dab of olive oil. Give dull hair, lackluster hair a shine by rinsing with lemon juice. Add a teaspoon of honey to your bathwater for smooth, silky skin. You can also just add a few drops of your favorite bubble bath to your bathwater. Light a scented candle and relax as the warm water washes all the stress away. You could always enlist the help of your partner and have him give you a relaxing neck and back massage. The point is to pamper yourself whether you do it at home or elsewhere.
Keep the romance alive.
You may not be feeling very romantic especially during the latter half of your pregnancy and many women worry that their husbands no longer find them attractive. Of course that isn't true. It's just all those hormonal changes working your emotions into a frenzy. So plan a romantic evening for just the two of you and get those negative thoughts out of your head. Being pregnant is a time to let both your inner and outer beauty show. Don't be afraid to let the world know you're pregnant and beautiful.
