Do your kids run at the mere mention of vegetables? Well, if you are one of the many parents who have a difficult time getting your little ones to eat the recommended five a day, don't fret. There are many ways to coax your children into eating their leafy greens.

Getting kids involved in the process of preparing vegetables will give them a sense of pride and accomplishment. This simple act can yield surprising results. Kids are always willing to try something that they had a hand in preparing.

On your mark, get set, dip! I don't know what it is about dipping, but children love to do it. Try putting a small amount of salad dressing on the side of carrot sticks, and cucumbers. You may be surprised by the results.

Juicing fresh vegetables is a great idea. Children tend to be naturally curious. Watching the juice spout out from a juicer can be an exciting adventure. If you let them choose the mix of vegetables, or hold the cup while the liquid comes out of the juicer, they will be anxious to give it a try.

Hiding vegetables in your children's favorite food is always an option. Try mixing a few vegetables in your spaghetti sauce. I know that you don't want to be a sneak, but in this case, you can make an exception.

Making funny faces always gets a child's attention. You can use vegetables to create hilarious characters on your child's plate. For instance, you can shape a few pea, and carrots into a smiley face. The possibilities are endless, just let your imagination run wild.

Parents eat up! Be a role model for your children and demonstrate to them how enjoyable eating vegetables can be. Ultimately, kids will learn from your example, so take the lead, and let them follow.

Don't be an enforcer. Let children choose their vegetables during mealtimes. It won't hurt to let your kids decide whether they will prefer to eat carrots or broccoli for dinner.

Offer children a variety of vegetables, and be patient. You will eventually find a few that they are fond of.
