The art of muscle building is more a science than many weight lifters understand. Muscle building requires a careful schedule of muscle tearing and muscle rebuilding, but in order to build the most muscle possible, the weight lifter must understand the science of muscle creation.
When a weight lifter pushes his or her muscles to the point of failure, with sets of repetitions over and over again, tiny tears appear in the muscle. It is these tears that are needed to build new muscle. When the body repairs the muscle, it grows bigger than it was a the start of the workout session.
The key to building muscle thus requires a schedule of tearing and repairing. A specific muscle group should only be worked every other day. This gives the muscle a full 48 hours to repair and rebuild before those tiny tears are created again.
The more muscle the body builds, the more calories burned, the better shape the body will be in. When it comes to building muscle, protein is required to keep the muscles healthy and strong, so supplementing that low fat diet with a little extra, pure protein will give the muscle more strength in order to build more muscle.
