There is a new diet on the celebrity block and it consists of cookies. That's right, cookies and lots of them. The new diet is called the Hollywood Cookie Diet and it consists of eating 4 cookies per day as meal replacements. These four cookies are all that is eaten until that sensible dinner, so, can a diet of 4 cookies and 1 meal be safe on the body? The proof is in the cookie.
The four cookie regime provided by the Hollywood Cookie Diet offers the body 600 calories and 20 grams of protein. No too shabby, but each cookie only weighs 1.5 ounces. That means, the dieter will consume only 6 ounces of food for an entire day before jumping in to a sensible dinner.
The first aspect to look into when ascertaining the safety of such a diet is the nutritional facts. These cookies do not provide the servings of fruits and vegetables needed for a healthy diet. They certainly do not offer enough protein to prevent muscle loss and they are extremely small and high in calories.
Imagine eating that sensible dinner and trying to fit in an entire days worth of fruits and vegetables and at least 30 to 50 grams of protein. The caloric intake for the meal would be out of this world.
So, after a very short look into the Hollywood Cookie Diet, the diet seems lacking in many of the nutritional areas that should be the focus during weight loss. Long term weight loss requires learning how to eat in moderation and support a healthy body by eating from all the major food groups throughout the day. These cookies teach nothing but starvation and seem to be just another fad diet.
