In the fashion world there are those cities that are known for their immense sense of style and there are those that seem to fly under the radar. From Milan to New York, fashion is more than a scene, it is a lifestyle that is bred into every step taken by the residents who live there. Today, Sydney is trying to earn a spot on the list of the most famous fashion destinations and they are doing one heck of a job.

Thirteen years ago, Sydney set out to hold a fashion week and despite the laughter from the crowds, they stood their guns and continued that same tradition each and every year. Today, Sydney is quickly become a fashion mecca and the naysayers are eating their words hand over fist.

While at first, the list of attendees was slim to say the least, now A-listers are flocking to Sydney to see what new and exciting fashions the city once known for the Speedo has to offer. Designers Alex Perry and Lisa Ho are two that continue to return to Sydney each and every year. And, the fashion show viewers are nothing less than fabulous as well with singer Danni Minogue and Miranda Kerr (who will hopefully bring along boyfriend Orlando Bloom) are both Sydney fashion lovers.

In a world set to its guns, it is amazing to see the birth of a new city of fashion. But that is exactly what was created out of an intense love of fashion and an eye for what this love can create.
