Fashion is all about perception and style is timeless. For many years now, black has been the safe and stylish color sure to boost any fashion design to stardom. Fashion models wore black, famous celebrities wore black and the every day Joe could wear black. Black fashion was the fashion. Now, there is a new black in town and it is all over Hollywood.
For many years now the phrase, “Gray is the new Black.” has littered the Internet blogways, but now the gossip is coming to fruition. Runways models are styling in gray, designers are choosing gray fabrics and patterns, and every red carpet this year has shown an elegant dress design with gray as the base.
But, for those of us who do not have to walk the runway or the red carpet, how do we incorporate this new black into our wardrobe? Simple, choose charcoal dress slacks instead of the traditional black. Funk up a jean outfit with a gray belt or throw a gray scarf, hat and glove set into the cart the next time your are shopping for the latest fashions. The color gray in our wardrobes needs to function just as black did, a base for the rest of what we wear.
Ladies, don't fret yourself over the loss of those slimming garments, gray slims just as much as black and it is the “in” color this year.
Take a walk on the wild side and transform your fashion style with a little gray. From charcoal or gun metal, warm grays to cool grays, the world has moved away from black and taken a step toward color. That color is gray.
