Heroes is the television show that is driven by sheer emotion by its fans. A letter writing campaign, e-mails, phone calls and probably threats caused the show to be brought back to life after it was cancelled.
The cast and crew is back, hard work, for the new fall season and a whole slew of reporters were on hand for a very special announcement. First: The entire cast was there. Second: Tim Kring was there. Third: The boxed set of season one will be in stores in late August. Fourth: The cast will be embarking on a seven city, seven country “world tour” which fans can follow online at NBC’s web site.
But will all the cast make it? Leonard Roberts, who played D.L. on the series was not present.
They are currently in the writer’s room working hard as the production just started not that long ago and there are a lot of things still floating up in the air. They are working on the second series which may have footage screen at the upcoming Comic Con. While shooting the second season they are, at the same time, working on a new show called “Heroes: Origins”, which will feature the stories of characters yet introduced, but not yet written.
The new episodes of Heroes will run contiguously thru April with the new series, “Heroes: Origins”, will air in May. This hasn’t been seen since the Brady Bunch went to the Grand Canyon. It’s been asked what happens. Hiro will stay in the past (following last season’s cliffhanger) for several episodes while it’s uncertain what happens to Nathan Petrelli; if he survives (the would be president apparently was burnt to a crisp in the final episode) or doesn’t. But on Heroes, anything can, and often does, happen.
What is known is that “Heroes: Origins” will be an anthology and the current cast will not, at this date, be taking part in it.
The DVD will have 50 deleted scenes, commentary and the unaired 73-minute pilot.
