Home teeth whitening has been proving to be a growing and popular addition to the toothpaste aisle at your local supermarket or super pharmacy. Most people who are thinking about using a home teeth whitening system will try a tooth whitening toothpaste first. Then, if they like the results and can see an appreciable difference, they will go to purchase the more expensive and elaborate products.

Generally, review from consumers conclude that the products do work reasonably well, with some caveats. First, the product must be used regularly, not just when signs of yellowing appear. Given that, there are a number of advantages and disadvantages to using a home tooth whitening product

DISADVANTAGES

The solution can be messy and may require significant amount of time to be spent allowing the product to work. This is fine if you were going to be doing nothing around the house for that period of time, otherwise, it can be quite confining.

The use of some chemicals, such as baking soda, which are a part of some whitening agents can be dangerous in large quantities. You also must be careful in using a home kit that the solution doesn't drip or splash into the eyes, skin, or home furnishing and fixtures.

ADVANTAGES

The home kits are significantly less expensive than that would be found in a dentists office.

With a home tooth whitening kit you can schedule it around your own convenience. You can do it before work in the morning or while soaking in the tub, depending on the type of kit and how well it works.

The kits are readily available, while not all dental offices have the capability of performing the full fledged treatment. If you choose a dental office or teeth whitening spa, you usually will need to find one who specializes in the work.
