Beauty for 2007
Like many things in life, fashion and beauty continue to evolve. Every year, different forecasts are released by certified experts, fashion magazine editors and other self-declared gurus and although some of these revisit previous trends and fads, ultimately, they hold something distinct for that particular year or season. For 2007, the natural look and the romantic era is back in style. Fashionistas are drawn to the "treasures" of the earth --- peace, sophistication, earth tones and natural expressions of textures and sparkle --- as well as to the elegance, class and pure elegance of the old aristocrats. While the clothes, lingerie and other wardrobe pieces usually grab the spotlight when it comes to fashion and style forecasts, another important beauty aspect should also be given ample attention --- makeup. After all, every female fashionista and shopping aficionado cannot help but visit the makeup counter at her favorite boutique every now and then.
Makeup trends
The 2007 makeup trends generally touch on the natural look yet classy enough to be called something straight out of a runway show.
For lip makeup, color is in again. A lot of ladies are now wearing lots of red hues and even purple ones! There are also mauve and tan hues that complement well with dark skin tones --- these may look ordinary but they also have a certain hint of color in the form of extra sparkle or heavy shine.
Eye makeup, on the other hand, should be something that would grab attention. Green and purple (yet again), the usual favorites in the fashion industry, along with frost and yellow tones, are popular for eye makeup. They bring out the eyes and can be worn along with daywear to nightwear.
Smoky eyes, which have been popularized by young music icons like Beyonce Knowles and Shakira, have also seen more and more followers and this trend will last well up to the end of the year. Shine and gloss, when applied on the eyelids, can also help illuminate the eyes. For daywear, earth tones (again, the natural look!) and other lighter colors will always work. During evening affairs, the eyes can look more seductive and appealing if they are lined with black kohl.
Meanwhile, cheeks can also become more flattering if a light reflecting base with shiny rouge will be applied. It will also not hurt if you apply the same makeup on the t-zone (forehead, chin and nose) in order to even the makeup out and of course, to help decrease episodes of an oily face or cheeks.
Whether makeup experts say that the 2007 trends are just going back to the basics and nothing but, the most important thing to bear in mind is still to uphold the same tenets in makeup application: never overdo such that you will look like a clown and never underdo such that you will look as if you did not even bother applying a touch at all.
