Breast Reduction is a serious surgery that should be carefully considered and discussed with a physician. This is a procedure that reduced the size of a typically woman's breast. There are many reasons that a breast reduction be considered and even possibly medically necessary. There are also reasons why you should not have breast reduction surgery or it should be postponed.

Those who should consider breast reduction surgery are those who's:

1. Breast are too large in proportion to their body frame
2. Those who have heavy breast with their nipples or aureoles pointing downward
3. if one breast is larger than the other breast
4. Those who suffer from back, neck and shoulder pain due to the weight of their breast
5. Those who suffer from skin irritation under their breast
6. Those who have indentations from their bras shoulder straps even after properly fitted for a bra
7. Those who are restricted from physical activities due to the size of their breast
8. Those who have self-esteem issues or are self conscious about the largeness of their breast

There are also reasons not to have breast reduction or to postpone breast reduction surgery. If your breast have not yet fully developed it may be to your advantage to postpone breast reduction surgery until your breast are fully developed. If you are planning to have children surgery should be postponed until you are finished with child bearing. Changes during pregnancy can alter the changes of the surgery. Also it may not be possible to breast feed once having breast reduction surgery. As with any surgery you should consider the patients overall health before performing surgery. Health risks and conditions may make the surgery too risky for the patient.
